Greetings! My name is Xavi Alcañiz and I’m a Video Game Development and Design Student at the Centre de la Imatge i Tecnologia Multimèdia, associated with the UPC, in Barcelona, Spain. I consider myself to be passionate, creative, communicative and always willing to offer a helping hand. My main objective in this field is contributing to the craft of stories and experiences with my creative vision and artistic skills
I used to study in the technological field, aiming to be an engineer, but my love for video games ultimately got the better of me. Despite having always been good with numbers and logic systems, I found that my real calling was art and design. I have always loved storytelling, drawing and music, and I’m eager to explore all of them in this thriving artistic medium. I’m constantly juggling new ideas for games, narratives, worlds, etc, and being able to bring those into reality with a devoted and passionate team is, to me, one of the most fulfilling experiences in the whole world. Besides work done in class, I have experience in video editing, script writing, board game design, musical composition and worldbuilding.
I was on the art team for Alien: Nemesis, most notably making concept art, rigging, audio - sfx, and animations.
I was in charge of making the concept art for Stub the main character, the Xenomorphs, the Xenomorph Queen, Concept Art of the Medic, Sargeant, & Camp Leader NPC's.
I was in charge of creating all SFX for attacks, abilities, enemies, ambience, etc, with the exception of the queen & chestburster. Also the Music for all levels.
2 lines of voice over dialogue for the rescue ship at the end.
Full animation rig of the model (although later replaced), all the animations for the regular, red, & white Xenomorph.
Small playtesting session to record how the PS4 dualshock controller, as well as notify a couple bugs.
